Step 1: Record a video
Best practices
| Any camera will work
You can record a video in the platform (on Chrome or Firefox) or on a device of your choice.
| Record from the waist up
We use your body movement and hand gestures to analyze your physical communication. We don’t assess what you’re wearing.
| Make sure you’re in a quiet spot
Background noise like music, chatter, or an A/C unit will reduce the output quality of our vocal analytics technology.
| Write an outline
Jot down some bullet points to answer the prompt, but avoid scripting out the whole talk to sound natural.
Video requirements
| Record or upload. Record in the platform or upload from any device.
| Upload an .mp4 to preview in the platform. We also accept .mov, and .webm.
| File length must be between 2 and 10 minutes. We need at least 2 minutes and 300 words to provide scores with statistical significance.
| File size must be under 650MB. Our system still works great with lower quality videos, so there’s no need to record in high-definition.
Browser and device requirements
| Use Chrome or Firefox on computer for the best experience.
| We partially support Edge and Safari for viewing results and resources.
| We don’t currently support Internet Explorer.
Step 2: Review your results
Your video will be processed within 24 hours. You’ll receive results for an overall score and 24 important communication skills.
| Skills are divided into four categories: ⬤ Audience Perception ⬤ Message Content ⬤ Vocal Delivery ⬤ Visual Delivery
Scoring and the scale:
All scores are on a scale from 1 to 100 The average first time score is 44 Unlike traditional grades, our entire database average is a 50 Scoring 100 is nearly impossible
Step 3: Improve your skills
If your initial score is not what you expected, don’t be discouraged. Awareness is the first step to getting better!
Your results will outline top strengths and opportunities.
Click on the skill name to learn more and see videos of what good looks like.
Go to “Start Improving” on the results page to access resources like pro tips, video examples, and exercises specific to your top opportunities.
Record another video for the same scenario to apply what you learn. Participants who see the most success record 3 videos per scenario.
